Sorry about that. So for VMware, we collect performance data by default at 10 minute intervals. We take that collection and take the average, min, and max of VMware's 20 second samples. You can tune down performance collection to 5 minutes, which would give you more data points over the long term and averages of tighter periods of time, but increases load on your VMAN Appliance and possibly vCenter and larger database sizes.
Data retention is very configurable, it just matters how big you want your database size to be. These two resources should help you:
